Different company, different sizes
Choosing your size when buying online can be a difficult thing. Different companies offer different size ranges and even if you are comparing the same size it can still vary between different brands. Below we have gathered some information that we hope will make it easier for you to find your ELVINE size and to give you a better insight into our size system.

Difference between sizes
For the majority of our coats and jackets we offer sizes from XXS-XXL. Between each size we increase the width 6 cm in total around chest, waist and seat. It is however not only the width that changes between sizes. Almost all measurements of the coat will differ proportionally between sizes. For instance our sleeve length increases 1 cm/ size from shoulder to sleeve edge. But also the width across shoulders changes proportionally for every size. And of course the coat also changes in length. All of this to keep the coat looking proportional in the smallest as well as the biggest size, and for all those in between.

Space to move
It is also good to know that your body measurements are not the same as the measurements of the coat. An item of clothing needs extra width around the body so that you will be able to move around in it. How much extra space is decided by what type of item and also what type of fabric ( for instance a stretch fabric can have a closer fit ) A padded item needs more extra space than a non padded item, and so on. There can also be a personal preference how tight or loose you like your garments to fit, and as well if you for example prefer to fit a thicker sweatshirt underneath a jacket.

Choose your closest size
The most important measurements to help guide you are your chest measurement and your height. You may wonder why your height is of relevance? It is simply the fact that because not only the width changes between sizes, but also other measurements such as length and sleeve length, someone who is 160 cm tall will most likely not fit in the same size as someone who is 175 cm tall, even though their chest measurement may be the same. The extra space that we leave room for in our garments will allow a slightly shorter person to choose 1 size smaller than our size guide for a better fitted garment.
